COLIN OFFICIALLY OFFERED 'TOTAL RECALL' ROLE

EXTRACT:
Sony has offered Colin Farrell the lead role in Columbia Pictures' "Total Recall" remake.

Farrell received the offer last week and has since been in negotiations with Sony. He would play a man tortured by recurring dreams of a trip to Mars, a role that was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original 1990 pic.

The "Total Recall" reboot, to be directed by Len Wiseman from a script by Kurt Wimmer, will contemporize author Philip K. Dick's source story, "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale." Farrell's casting would help contemporize the pic, offering a stark contrast to Schwarzenegger's persona.

  1. This is very exciting. The original story has a much different tone than the movie. Colin will be perfect and it's a good opportunity for him to show how good he is. The Arnold character was one dimensional but the story character is more complicated. I can't wait.

  2. Yeah it's an interesting move for both parites involved.

It's a clear indication Colin is yearning for the spotlight of mainstream again as was LB, so if he does accept TR then I hope being back at the top and putting himself under all the pressure that goes with it does indeed prove to be the right move for him.
